All Seasons

The area has four seasons, each either their own great appeal and character.

Spring
A fabulous season anywhere in the world, but more spectacular in the North-East. Long, luscious grass for the horses the graze on, great sunshine that shines their chestnut coats, intoxicating smells and delightful bird-life that make the hills sing, the season of discovery in the Norht-East. If it gets cold in the evening, there is a wood-fire to keep you cozy and warm.

Summer
Summer always comes to the North-East, even when Melbourne is cold. Never plan for a cold Christmas day, as we are always bathed in sun with long, beautiful warm evenings tempered by a cool breeze from Mt. Buffalo to get you ready for a great night’s sleep. And, of course, there is that glass area that gives you unlimited views of the Southern Cross and the great display of stars that never disappoints.

Autumn
The season of chestnuts, walnuts and great temperate days with still long, mellow evenings. The leaves and the colour changes are spectacular, and the bright Autumn festival is a well recognised tourist attraction around Australia. The vineyards are simply amazing with all their different colours and, in early Autumn, the fat bunches of red and white grapes hanging off the long, extended limbs of the vines. Then, if it gets cool, there’s always that cosy fire to keep you warm and comfortable.

Winter
A great season of fantastic delight to skiers and those that love the snow-capped mountains and fast-running streams of the North-East. All the outdoor cafes and restaurants become cosy, warm and friendly, and the open-living of the house embraces fun, food and friendship, supported by the warming and caressing fire.
